Spoil Your Dog Day

Spoil Your Dog Day is just around the corner! While, given the chance, Fido would likely insist that every day should be Spoil Your Dog Day, the official one is coming up August 10th. Here, a Walnut, CA vet lists some great new ways to get that cute tail wagging.

Bed

A new bed is at the top of the list of great ways to pamper your pet. If you really want to go all-out, get Fido an orthopedic bed. This is the doggy version of a deluxe mattress! These are particularly great for senior dogs and large breeds, who need extra support to sleep comfortably.

Kiddie Pool

If you have a yard for Fido to run and play in, consider getting him a kiddie pool. Put a few toys in it to make it extra fun!

Doggy Day Care

Does Fido stay home alone while you go to work? Consider enrolling your canine pal in doggy daycare. Your four-legged friend can run and play with his pals while you earn money for toys and treats!

Pet Massage

A soothing massage can be just as nice and relaxing for dogs as it is for people. Book your furry buddy an appointment with a pet masseuse.

Treats!

If there’s one thing that our canine patients unanimously get excited about, it’s tasty treats. Pick up your pet some doggy ice cream at a local pet store. Fido can also have plain, cooked meat, poultry, or fish, without the skin, bones, or fat. Other suitable options include a plain cheeseburger, deli meat, a hot dog, or a little bacon or sausage. Don’t go overboard with these treats, however: they’re quite fattening, and really aren’t very healthy!

Puppy Playground

Why not make your back yard a bit more dog-friendly? Add a doghouse, or build Fido a sandbox to bury treats and toys in.

A Walk In The Park

Dogs really benefit from the mental stimulation they get from a change in scenery. Take your canine friend to a new park, and just let him run and play with his pals. Your pooch may also enjoy exploring a new trail.

Love

Never underestimate Fido’s appreciation for ear scritches and belly rubs. Pay lots of attention to your furry friend!
